The Biggest Shingle Event

Black Onyx by Owens CorningWe are raising the roof at Lemmon Valley Calvary Church of the Nazarene!  That's right, we have been in need of replacing the roof for some time and we need your help.  For one person, the project is too big.  For all of us, it is pretty easy.  For a donation of $40, you can purchase a bundle of shingles!  The response on Sunday morning was awesome and we are well over half way to our goal.

Here is what I am asking you to do.  First, join me in prayer as we thank God for His provision.  All that we have is His and we are blessed to have an amazing facility in which to gather and worship in.  Second, contribute financially.  I am asking for each family to purchase one or more bundles for $40 each.  When we all participate, the burden is light.

Thank you for allowing God to work through you in this project!

Prayer for the Persecuted Church

Prayer LanternAt the front of the sanctuary, in a very prominent location, this lantern will become an important part of our worship services.  In it, a candle will be lit and a prayer will be offered for the persecuted church around the world and here at home.  Why is this important – why now?

All around the world, the Church of Jesus Christ is being persecuted.  Christians are losing their lives, not because they have done anything wrong but simply because they are Christians.  I know, Christians have been being persecuted throughout the ages, since the birth of the Church.  That is absolutely true, from Stephen through Paul and all of the other disciples, Christians have been being killed.  Actually, Jesus himself was killed because he claimed to be the promised messiah.  From the very beginning, Christianity has included an element of suffering, there is certainly no denying that.  Maybe that is just part of the way things are supposed to be.  My experience is that anytime you are going against the grain, standing up for what is right even when it is in opposition to what is comfortable, you run the risk of being persecuted for your position.  It is just part of what Christians should expect until Jesus Christ returns to collect his Church.

Video CameraLemmon Valley Calvary is committed to reaching as many people as possible, in any way possible with the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We currently offer two Sunday morning worship services and one Sunday evening worship service. To add to that, we have opportunities throughout the week to study the Bible, fellowship with believers, and to experience all that God has for you!

With all of the opportunities available, we are still very aware that it may not be possible for you to join us here at the church.  For various reasons, it may be more accessible for people to join us online.  It is our desire to meet that need as well and do what we can to help you become a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
